Scalloping trips

Scallop Season 2011 June 25-September 25.  First time since the 1980's  scallop season has been open after September 10th!  Book mid week, later in the season and you'll experience bigger scallops and less crowds.

Enjoy a half day of scalloping on the pristine grass flats of Homosassa. Capt Don can get you there and back quickly by staying off the beaten path in his custom built 24ft Carolina Skiff powered by 115hp Evinrude E-Tech .

All licenses are furnished. You will need a mask, snorkel and fins a cooler to take your catch home in and any food and beverages that you would like for the day.  Capt. Don will show you how to clean scallops, but part of the experience is cleaning your own catch.  For those that would like to have local entrepenuers "clean your catch" Capt. Don can steer you in the right direction.

Standard Scalloping Adventure
Tour #1

A four hour trip for  1-4 people $250.00.  Each additional person $50.00 per person up to 6 people. Minimum $250.00.

Double Dipping Adventure
Tour #2

A six hour trip for 1-4 people $250.00 and $50.00 per person up to 6 people.   For an additional $100.00 Capt Don will take you to the Bluewaters of Homosassa, a local swimming hot spot.   You and your group can spend a couple of hours chillin' in the 72 degree fresh water springs at the headwaters of the Homosassa.   *Highly recommend for familes with children or folks who aren't staying local and want to ride home without the salty flavor of the Gulf of Mexico attached to your person.

Best of Both Worlds
Tour #3

A grand slam for those who want to combine a  scallop excursion  & a flats fishing trip.    Flats fishing rates apply, call Capt. Don for details.

Scallop limits are 2 gallons whole per person. With a maximum of 10 gallons per boat. If you clean the scallops before returning back to the dock. The limit is 1 pint of Scallop meat per person. With a maximum of 1/2 gallon of meat per boat.

Remember to bring your sun screen and enjoy a day on the water!

Thanks, Capt Don
